Education

The Automatic Control Laboratory (Laboratoire d'Automatique LA) is part of the School of Engineering (STI) of Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The LA teaches automatic control to students from various disciplines. Diversity has always been a keyword at the laboratory:

  • diversity among members, in terms of nationality and engineering back-ground;
  • diversity in funding sources, which includes EPFL, fundamental research programs, applied research programs, and direct industrial support;
  • diversity in teaching tools that includes lectures, exercises, computer-aided instruction, laboratory projects and remote experimentation;
  • diversity in research with applications to mechanical, electromechanical, chemical, biotechnological, aeronautical, energy, robotic, software and micro-systems.
